Industrial Tomato Producers Group
The Industrial Tomato Producers Group of the Agricultural Cooperative of the Farsala Province “Enipeas” was established in 2024. Groups such as this bring together farmers who cultivate industrial tomatoes, with the goal of strengthening their position and improving the overall efficiency of production. Producer groups offer significant advantages, particularly for crops that require specialized cultivation practices and processing, such as industrial tomatoes. The Enipeas tomato group achieves high yields and excellent fruit quality thanks to continuous monitoring by the cooperative’s agronomy department and the use of high-quality crop inputs.
Members work together to improve production efficiency, share resources, and exchange knowledge. The cooperative and the producers’ group provide cultivation support, including training in best agricultural practices, assistance with irrigation and crop management, and specialized advisory tools for managing pests and diseases.
The cooperative also supports farmers in obtaining product quality certifications—for example, for organic cultivation, regenerative agriculture practices, or other standards required by processors or consumers. These certifications help increase the market value of the tomatoes produced by the group.
In addition, the producers’ group can promote its products collectively in both domestic and international markets, strengthening the competitiveness of its members. This may include participation in trade fairs, promotional activities, and partnerships with major retail chains.
Industrial tomatoes are a high-demand crop in Greece, mainly due to their use in the production of juices, sauces, and other processed products. A cooperative such as Agricultural Cooperative of the Farsala Province “Enipeas” provides farmers in the Farsala region with the opportunity to become part of a well-organized production chain, offering greater stability and improved profitability.
